A Little About Me
Words and writing are in my DNA. My father was a journalist, a celebrated Italian foreign correspondent working in England, and my earliest memories include being lulled to sleep by the sound of his staccato typing in the room next to my bedroom in our small London apartment. I began writing in the year 2000, and have five books of my own in print, one of which was a UK nonfiction bestseller. Between 2009 and 2011, I edited, compiled, and published three Science Fiction novella anthologies, stories from which were nominated for and won major awards. I've been working as a professional freelance editor since 2012, during which time I've edited hundreds of short stories, novels, and nonfiction works. I can think of few things more rewarding than supporting an author in realizing their dream by helping to hone and polish their work for publication. My own experience as a writer gives me the ability to look at and edit a manuscript in a way an ordinary editor cannot. As an author myself, I'm able to bring more nuance and understanding of the writer's style and goals to a project rather than just following a set of prescriptive rules. A cornerstone of my approach to client manuscripts is to above all respect the author's style, voice, vision, and intent. If you think I might be the editor for you, do please drop me a line. I'd love to discuss your project and see how I can help you. |
